We were headed to Myrtle Beach, SC for a much-needed getaway from all the craziness here in Philadelphia, Pa. It was the weekend of Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020. Our journey began at 4 am. We wanted to make a good time to beat rush hour traffic through major cities. As you can imagine a 10-1/2 hr ride from Philly to Myrtle Beach, SC sounds like fun to no one. At times, I and my husband I would make National Lampoons Vacation Jokes. My kids begged me days before to fly, but I do not get on airplanes. After awhile in the car, I believe you start to get Car Fever and Claustrophobia after a few hours. Well, maybe that’s just me. I hate the thought of being trapped in the house in a snowstorm with kids for a day or two. I go stir crazy and need to be free. haha. So anyway, we made a really good time, with only one slowdown and two bathroom breaks.
You can also eat at Loco Gecko Restaurant, Grab n’ Go Grill & Coffee Bar & Swirl Ice Cream & Sweet Shop!
Let me just tell you, that we ate breakfast at the Grab n’ Go Grill & Coffee Bar EVERY morning. You can enjoy the buffet or my favorite part was the Fresh Omelette & Waffle Station. I was in love with the chef that was making my food. I wanted to take him home to make me omelets and fresh waffles every day. It was so delicious I can’t even explain. Everyone was very happy with the food selection. This is Located in the First Tower of the Resort. (Hover over images to scroll through)
The first thing we did when we got here was head to the beach. The beach was beautiful and so convenient, we just walk past the pools and up the steps and there it is. (Hover over images to scroll through)
We attended the Trampoline park nearby “Rockin’ Jump, which was so much fun. This was my first time at a Trampoline Park and it was definitely a workout as a 40-year-old mom! :) They had a Jump & Dodgeball Arena, Slam Dunk Zone, Ninja Course & much more. I have to be honest, it was a lot of fun to act like a kid with your kids. A really fun experience and the staff was amazing. (located at 2200 N Oak St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577)
We also went on the SkyWheel which was great. My husband and I went on the Skywheel in Niagara Falls, but this was more amazing. The Skywheel is located on the promenade and is overlooking the ocean and all of Myrtle Beach. We were lucky enough to get on at sunset and it was a magical view. It was such a great experience and the kids appreciated the beauty around us. It’s an amazing ride that everyone has to experience.
